NEW YORK, NY, United States (UPI) -- Energy prices Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose solidly ahead of the long weekend.
High-quality crude oil for March delivery was up $1.02, or 1.7 percent, at $59.48 a barrel.
Natural gas was 14.7 cents higher, a 2.1 percent increase, to $7.281 per million Btu.
Gasoline gained a nickel, or 3.6 percent, to $1.4635 a gallon and heating oil was up 3.4 cents at $1.6595 a gallon.
